Donna Vekic bio

Donna Vekic, born in Osijek (Croatia) on June 28th 1996, is an up-and-coming hot tennis player who may be destined to super-stardom, as she’s ready to break into the top-100 at the tender age of 16 while defying older and way more experienced players.

She describes herself as strong-willed, determined and extremely competitive. Those qualities made her the youngest finalist of a WTA tournament in the last 6 years. She went through to the final of the Tashkent Open (Uzbekistan) in 2012, where she lost in straight sets to Irina-Camelia Begu.

Donna Vekic comes from a family of sportspeople. Her grandmother is regarded as the person who introduced Davor Suker to a football career, who is widely considered as the best Croatian footballer ever. Most of her close family has some relation to football, but no one had ever had any connection to tennis.

Valeria Savinykh bio

Valeria Savinykh is a Russian tennis hottie… That’s about the 1000th time I’ve written this particular three-word expression in this website, but it seems there’s an extreme tendency for this country to develop gorgeous tennis players. I’m not complaining, please keep’em coming!

As of the time of this writing, she has just qualified for her second straight Australian Open main draw, having passed the three qualifying rounds. She is due to face someone who will eventually be added to the list, the Luxembourgian Mandy Minella.

Her best ranking was achieved halfway through the 2012 season, when she broke into the top-100 for a week, being at the 99th spot. Valeria Savinykh reached a few finals on the ITF circuit. Her only title to date was at Johannesburg in 2011, where she defeated the Czech Petra Cetkovska in the final.

Lera, as she is treated by her fans, is also known as Baby Bepa, as she resembles her older compatriot Vera Zvonareva.

Arantxa Rus bio

Arantxa Rus, born in Delft, Holland on December 13, 1990, is a hot player who is rising fast in the WTA rankings.

At the time of this writing, she has just beaten world number 5 and US Open champion Samantha Stosur at the 2012 Wimbledon Championships, even after being bagelled in the second set.

The left-handed has been the ITF world number 1 in juniors, a short time after she won the junior version of the Australian Open in 2008, beating home-favorite Jessica Moore in the final.

At her very first WTA tournament, in ‘s-Hertogenbosch 2007 where she was given a wild-car entry to the main draw, she was destroyed by Alona Bondarenko. She bounced back from that loss, and at her next tournament she reached the quarter-finals of Guangzhou, beating Gisela Dulko along the way.

Arantxa Rus began playing at age 5 when sister took her to a local tennis club. Her favorite shots are backhand and service and her favorite surface is clay. Although her name is from Spanish origins, she is not named after former world number 1 Arantxa Sánchez-Vicario. Her parents just liked the name.

Camila Giorgi bio

Camila Giorgi, born in Macerata on December 30, 1991, is one of the most promising Italian tennis players.

She prefers fast surfaces, as she has a very athletic body that allows her to have stronger than average groundstrokes.

Her first calebrity moment was on April 28 2006, when his father gave an interview to Italian newspaper La Gazzetta dello Sport. He told them that within the next two to three years Camila Giorgi would become the number 1 in the world. Unfortunately, as of the time of this writing she is at her best ranking of 129, although she is steadily climbing up the rankings. We are hopeful that, sooner rather than later, she breaks into the top-100.

Camila’s passion for tennis began at an early age. After watching her siblings training, she decided to experiment the sport at the age of 5. She grew as a champion and was subjected to harsh training from her father Sergio. Two years later, Adriano Panatta, one of the greatest Italian players of all time says of her: “It is the first time I play a girl who seems like Andre Agassi.” In 2000 she was spotted by Nick Bollettieri, one of the most famous tennis coaches in the world, who later offered her seven months of training (as he did previously with Maria Sharapova).

Julia Goerges bio

Julia Goerges was born in Bad Oldesloe, Germany on November 2nd 1988, where she still resides.

Her highest singles ranking is world number 16, a feat she achieved on June 2011.

In her career, Julia Goerges has reached three singles WTA finals, winning two titles. It’s interesting to know that, while she prefers playing on quicker surfaces, both her titles were on clay. Her first final was won against hungarian Timea Bacsinszky in Bad Gastein, Austria, in July 2010, in straight sets. Three months later, “Goergeous” had her only loss in a WTA final against Roberta Vinci, in Luxembourg. In April 2011, Julia Goerges defeated fellow german hot tennis player Sabine Lisicki in the quarter-finals of the Stuttgart Porsche Grand Prix (and yes, it’s a tennis tornament, not some kind of motor racing event). She then beat number 5 seed Samantha Stosur in the semi-finals and the then world number 1 Caroline Wozniacki in the final.

She has reached at least the 3rd round of every Grand Slam, both in singles and doubles.

Sabine Lisicki bio

Sabine Lisicki was born in Troisdorf, (West) Germany on September 22nd 1989 and she now lives in Bradenton, Florida, United States. She is of polish ancestry.

Her highest singles ranking is world number 13, her ranking after playing the 2012 edition of the Australian Open.

In her career, Sabine Lisicki has reached five singles WTA finals, winning three titles. Her first final was lost to Sorana Cirstea in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, in 2008, in the final set tiebreak. She won her next final against Caroline Wozniacki in Charleston, United States, in 2009. She also beat Daniela Hantuchova to win at Birmingham, United Kingdom, and Aravane Rezai at Dallas, United States, both in 2011.

2011 was, in fact, her best year. Sabine Lisicki had even dropped out of the top-100 the previous year, after an injury-plagued 2010 season. In doubles, she won her only WTA title in Stuttgart, partnering Samantha Stosur. She also reached the final of a Grand Slam doubles tournament at Wimbledon, losing to Kveta Peschke and Katarina Srebotnik in the final, while also having Stosur as her partner.

Vitalia Diatchenko bio

Vitalia Diatchenko was born in Sochi, Russia (USSR at the time) on August 2nd 1990.

Her highest singles ranking is world number 105, achieved in 2009, while her best doubles ranking is world number 60, on February 21st 2011. She has a double-handed backand, as amny others do, but also a rare double-handed forehand,

In her career, Vitalia Diatchenko has won several ITF titles. She won a total of 5 singles and 8 doubles ITF titles, capturing exactly one ITF singles title per year since 2007, the year she came back to playing tennis, after being absent for about two years (aged 14-16) with a serious right shoulder injury. At the WTA level, she has failed to win any singles title, but she won, alongside greek Eleni Danilidou, the Tashkent title on September 17th 2011.

She has been noted at Wimbledon 2011, during her match against fellow hottie Daniela Hantuchova, for her large biceps compared to her tall hot build. She lost in the decider, after being up a set and getting to the tiebreak of the second set.

Vitalia Diatchenko is an adept of social media websites, as she has a personal Facebook page (and several unofficial fan pages) and posts regularly on Twitter.

Petra Cetkovska bio

Petra Cetkovska was born in Prostejov, Czech Republic (Czechoslovakia at the time) on February 8th 1985.

Her highest singles ranking is world number 40, achieved in 2011, while her best doubles ranking is world number 110, on March 3rd 2008.

In her career, she has won a total of 20 ITF singles titles, while still pursuing her first WTA level title in singles. She lost her only WTA final in New Haven, in 2011, to world number 1 Caroline Wozniacki. Her only WTA title was won in doubles, alongside fellow hottie Andrea Hlavackova, at their home country, winning the 2007 edition of the Prague Open.

Petra Cetkovska has reached the fourth round of a Grand Slam tournament twice. She got to the last sixteen at the 2008 Roland Garros, after beating, among others, Alona Bondarenko, the 23rd seed. She was, however, destroyed by eventual champion and then world number 2 Ana Ivanovic. That poor display was avenged at Wimbledon, in 2011. She beat Ana to reach her second ever fourth round of a Grand Slam tournament.

One of her sponsor is czech car manufacturer Skoda.

Andrea Hlavackova bio

Andrea Hlavackova was born in Plzen, Czech Republic (Czechoslovakia at the time) on August 10th 1986.

Her highest singles ranking is world number 87, achieved in early 2011, while her best doubles ranking is world number 17, on August 15th 2011.

In her career, Andrea Hlavackova has won 5 WTA doubles titles, as well as 15 ITF doubles titles and four ITF singles titles. One of her doubles titles was at the 2011 French Open, won alongside Lucie Hradecka as an unseeded duo. They beat eight seeds Barbora Zahlavova-Strycova and Iveta Benesova in the first round, second seeds Kveta Peschke and Katarina Srebotik in the quarter-finals, third seeds Vania King and Yaroslava Shvedova in the semi-finals and finally the seventh seeds Sania Mirza and Elena Vesnina in the final. Andrea Hlavackova and Lucie Hradecka’  feat was even greater than it may seem, as they won the title without conceding a single set to any of their opponents.

Her first WTA doubles title ever was won alongside fellow czech hot tennis player Petra Cetkovska, at their home country back in 2007.

She is halfway through her law degree, which she stopped to pursue her professional tennis career, but she hopes to return and eventually finish it.

Anastasia Pivovarova bio

Anastasia Pivovarova was born in Moscow, Russia, in June 16th 1990.

This russian hot tennis player was able to win her first ITF title at her second tournament ever, back in 2005. Anastasia Pivovarova was, during her junior career, ranked as high as world number 2. She won her first WTA level main draw match back in 2008, but she had a few injuries early in her career.

Anastasia Pivovarova, who is coached by Antonio Baldellou, missed about three months of the circuit with an abdominal injury, five months with a back injury, and she also suffered a broken wrist. These injuries prevented her to climb the rankings quicker. Nevertheless, she has already found a place into the top-100, playing WTA Tour level events regularly and beating a few top-100 players.

Anastasia Pivovarova has as her best result at the moment the 3rd round at the 2010 edition of Roland Garros, where she beat world number 24 Jie Zheng, before falling to world number 7 and the previous year’s runner-up, Samantha Stosur from Australia.

The russian hottie is already a regular in WTA level draws and has many ITF level tournaments under her belt. Because of that, she surely deserves her own spot on our list.
