Tatiana Golovin bio
This hot tennis player was born in Moscow, Russia (then Soviet Union). Therefore, despite being french, her name is pronounced “goloveen”.
Tatiana Golovin‘s highest singles ranking is 12, reached in early 2008, just a few months before her last match on the tour.
Her best Grand Slam result was achieved at the 2006 edition of the US Open, when she reached the quarter-finals. She beat Nadia Petrova and Anna Chakvetadze, on the way to her defeat against the eventual champion, Maria Sharapova, in a couple of tiebreaks.
She has a Grand Slam title in her career. Tatiana Golovin and Richard Gasquet were the French Open champions in 2004, at a young age of respectively 16 and 17.
Tatiana Golovin unfortunately had to retire very prematurely at the age of 20, soon after reaching her highest ranking of 12, due to chronic lower back injuries.
Anyway, after about one year without playing competitively, she was invited to a photoshoot for Sports Illustrated, alongside fellow hot tennis players Daniela Hantuchova and Maria Kirilenko.
She is also remembered by her charismatic personality and controversial behaviour. Tatiana Golovin has been quoted as saying, for example, that Ana Ivanovic‘s run as number 1 was due to chance.
